Hello

a question for the experts. We want to buy a turnkey property. What are the differences between anthracite-colored versus white uPVC windows for a ground-level terrace facing southwest?

There shouldn’t be any price difference, right?

Thanks in advance

The darker frames have higher thermal stress because they simply absorb more infrared radiation. Therefore, I would expect the uPVC to age faster.
Should there be no price difference?

Why not? It depends on the supplier—some charge an extra fee for colored or foil-wrapped frames.

Best regards,
I.

Why should standard windows have the same price as the laminated windows? It is an "additional feature," an "upgrade" in the window design, and therefore comes with extra costs!

Hello

Thanks, I’m just a bit clueless^^

So this membrane doesn’t affect the material itself. For example, if the sun beats down on it and the windows expand

My general contractor had estimated an additional cost of €2250 for anthracite-colored cladding on the exterior of 13 windows. This was before signing the contract.

We have also dealt with this topic. Originally, we wanted anthracite-colored windows (exterior).

However, we have since decided to go with white ones again. 1. Because of the higher cost, and 2. because of the facade design. Since we want to use a different color for part of our house, we chose the white (more affordable) windows to allow for greater flexibility.

That is the current status. We are in the architect’s planning phase. It’s possible we might reconsider, but I think it will be the white ones. With approximately 23 windows plus skylights, a front door, and a garage door, the cost difference is quite significant. We’d probably rather invest that money elsewhere.
