ᐅ Plastering Work on Damp Calcium Silicate Blocks – Any Experiences?

cocodileHello everyone,
I hope someone can help me and either reassure or confirm my concerns.
Our shell construction is finished, all windows are installed, and the plumbing and electrical wiring are in place. The next step is the plastering work. Unfortunately, due to a combination of several unfortunate circumstances, water entered the basement through the windows during a storm and spread somewhat. The exterior wall is a waterproof concrete structure (“white tank”), and the partition walls between rooms are made of calcium silicate bricks. Now these calcium silicate bricks have absorbed water to about half the height of one brick. Plastering of the interior walls is scheduled to start this week, and our site manager says that the damp bricks are not a problem—but I feel uneasy about this.
Are there clear guidelines stating that the bricks must be completely dry before plastering, or is it really “not such a big deal”?
Many thanks in advance.
