Hello,

how can I connect two electrical outlets in Visio? I click on Connector in the menu ribbon, then click outlet 1 and outlet 2, but nothing appears. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to use specific connectors?

Also, I’m wondering how to represent the supply lines. They come from a riser. How do I insert this shaft in Visio and then connect all the supply lines to it? How have you done this?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I consider Viso unsuitable for this purpose. If you want to use the drawings to plan your own work, rough sketches are sufficient. However, if you need to electronically record/document all wiring for third parties, you require appropriate software used by electrical or MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) planners. Possibly even software compatible with BIM. This software is not only expensive but also requires significant training (which is why there are specialized training professions). I could list several that I know, but that wouldn’t help you.

For example, we installed wiring as part of our own work. For this, we drew sketches on the existing floor plans. The actual installation on site was then adjusted again, and the cable routing through the ceiling slabs was individually reviewed since the plumbing sometimes required space that had previously been allocated for cable penetrations (electrical). In the plans, outlets, switches/buttons, lights, etc. (quantity/position) also appear differently than on site.
