Hello forum,

We are planning to build within the next two years. Therefore, I am currently looking for helpful tips.

First of all:

I am a trained architectural draftsman (public sector), so I will be drawing the plans myself. The problem is that I have been out of this profession for about 10 years. Therefore, I have no knowledge of current building design. Also, through my work in the public sector, I had little involvement with single-family houses.

Are there any standard guidelines I should follow for a low-energy house? How did you approach your heating system and its planning? How did you calculate your insulation thickness? You have to consider the dew point, among other things.

Best regards

You have no knowledge of single-family homes, regulations, applications, and you probably don’t have the rights to use templates either.
I think you can handle the preliminary planning… and that’s where it should stop.

I would not create more than one floor plan as a basis for planning based on experience. Whether that actually benefits you is also questionable.
