Good morning,

Yesterday, we received a quote for a photovoltaic system. Our construction of the single-family house will start in October 2023 and is expected to be ready for occupancy in September 2024.

We have an annual electricity consumption of about 3000 kWh for our household, plus an unknown amount for the air-to-water heat pump (Weishaupt Biblock).

Our roof is oriented exactly south with a 25° pitch (gable roof). According to the calculation in the quote, the entire south roof is fully covered with modules (20 units), and the north roof is also equipped with 5 modules.

Attached you will find the details of the quote. The price is €20,900 net with battery storage and €15,900 net without storage.

What do you think of the offer? From what I understand in the discussions here on the forum, it is advisable to skip the battery storage. That would bring the cost to just under €16,000, which is a bit over €1,600 per kWp. That seems relatively expensive, doesn’t it?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Best regards,
Elias

Then I have the wrong term. As far as I know, according to the Berlin building regulations, you are not allowed to have a permanently installed heating system (of any kind) inside without a building permit / planning permission, no matter how small it is.

We have now ordered our photovoltaic system. We hope installation will take place by the end of the year, but we will have to wait and see.
It will be a 12.8 kWp system with 32 modules of 400 Wp, a Bauer Blackline heat pump, and a Kostal Plenticore plus 10 inverters. No battery storage.
€1400 per kWp net, including installation, scaffolding, AC/DC connection, registration, etc.

Cool thing, they’ll probably have a rock concert at your topping-out ceremony for the system. Are we from the forum invited too? :p

Definitely :-D
But only those who bring something are allowed to come :-D

Is 800 kWh/kWp a good value?

Oh, and two more questions: In some quotes, there was always a line item for a Smart Meter. Is it absolutely necessary? Should you have one or not?

Secondly, regarding taxes: small business regulation or regular taxation?
As a small business owner, you don’t get the VAT back on the photovoltaic system, but you pay about 7 cents per kWh including 19% VAT on the fed-in electricity after 5 years, and also 19% VAT on the consumed electricity. From what I’ve read, it’s roughly 20 cents per kWh flat rate—so about 1.3 cents per kWh fed in and 3.8 cents per kWh for self-consumed electricity.
3,396.88 VAT on the photovoltaic system.
Which option is more advantageous here?

You mean yield? Let me guess: north-facing roof, northern Germany. Then yes.
