Hello,

I would like to know your opinions on the topic of photovoltaic systems.
The plan is for a house with 140 sqm (1507 sq ft) with a south-facing roof.
Is financing such a system worthwhile?
What are your personal experiences in this area?
Do you have to feed the electricity into the grid, or is it allowed/possible to use it yourself?
Are there any special incentives or subsidies available?

What disadvantages does installing such a system have (please don’t mention “appearance”)?

Heat pump, recirculation line, 2 households, small child, clothes dryer, 3 refrigerators, air conditioning, rain shower... highest self-sufficiency rate was 88%. If I turn off air conditioning, recirculation line, and ventilation, certainly >90%. But do I want that?

Same here, except without 3 refrigerators.
But for me, it was more about that if you already have a storage tank, it should be designed so that (losses aside) you can at least reach nearly 100% during the summer half of the year.
What’s the reason it’s not enough for you? Are there too high peaks, or does the storage not last through the night?
I find storage tanks interesting, but when I hear things like this, it really takes the motivation away.

With moderate consumption, a single meter is sufficient.

2000 kWh household
3000 kWh heat pump
Annual values

With two meters, you can definitely save around 30-40€ per year.

I also didn't want two meters because of the possibility to disconnect in the heat pump tariff. I don't want anyone to be able to turn off my heating.

This is the current situation for us:
(8 kWp)

Monthly bar chart: energy generation, consumption, and self-consumption with legend

There is no automatic connection between electricity production and switching of appliances.

We try to run the washing machine or dishwasher during the day.

We have completed the first full month. 10 kWp, with 75% facing south and 25% east/west. One module is not yet operational.

1206 kWh generated
188 kWh / 16% self-consumed
1018 kWh sold
67 kWh purchased (74% self-sufficiency)

Heat pump used for hot water / some cooling (31 kWh), and household appliances are mostly scheduled to run during the day with a timer.
