jakobus85Hello everyone!
We are moving near Bremen, in northern Germany, and are considering installing a photovoltaic system. There are several providers offering solar solutions, and in our own research, we have frequently come across the specialist mentioned above. However, we don’t know anyone personally in the area who has had solar systems installed and could share their own experience with us.
The photovoltaic panels would need to be mounted directly onto the roof tiles of the house, as it is a single-family home with a pitched roof. I would say that the roof is in good condition and likely won’t need to be replaced in the coming years, so a mounted (also called “rack-mounted” or “on-roof”) installation should not be a problem. However, I am absolutely not a professional and would definitely have an expert take care of it.
I would really appreciate any personal experiences with local providers!

Reviews are positive, they are active on social media, references are provided on the website, many (local) media report about the company, and there are ongoing projects—all signs of a reliable company to me.
I agree with Evolith; request a quote and see what you get back. Asking for a quote doesn’t mean you have to hire the company.
I believe a lot depends on personal contact. I don’t think the quotes will differ significantly, so you will likely choose the company that suits you best.

Reviews are important, but so is the overall impression. Salespeople are not craftsmen, and accordingly, the installations tend to be poor if you don’t buy from someone who could practically work on the roof themselves. By the way, did you know that there are about 30 photovoltaic providers in Bremen?
Thank you first of all for your assessments and sorry for the late reply. I had so much to do that this completely took a back seat. But I have been following and took your feedback to heart.
Time has been very tight in the past few weeks, so this whole topic had to wait a bit, but I managed to identify a few suppliers and get in touch with some of them. I also asked the neighbors in the new residential area about their experiences with suppliers and received some very helpful advice about whom to approach and whom to avoid. We have already received the first offers, are still waiting on 2 more, and then we will compare everything carefully and follow up with questions and requests for adjustments with those who are possible candidates.
Fortunately, we are not under huge time pressure, but it would be good to get this done as soon as possible. The original plan was actually to have this settled before we move in, which unfortunately is no longer feasible, but it’s not a big deal—there have been other, more important matters recently.

Nowadays, a company won’t last long if it doesn’t deliver good work. Negative feedback is immediately shared online, and local media also jump on it. Unless there’s a new company every month with almost the same name or the same management, many people do (and have to) pay attention to quality. Even when there are negative reviews, it’s worth reading them. A lot of negative feedback can be due to reasons beyond the company’s control or simply because customers have different expectations.
If customers believe they can just install a few panels on their roof and be completely self-sufficient even in winter, that’s not realistic. However, no provider can be blamed for that.
Have you already requested a quote from Norddeutsche Solar, or are these other companies? Apparently, it is possible to get a quote online quite quickly, but I wanted to try and it only works with a German address.
