Hello everyone,
we would like to install a photo wallpaper on the back wall of the WC. Usually, there are tiles in that area. Should the wallpaper be sealed with some kind of varnish or coating to make it washable? If yes, what product is recommended for that?

Wallpaper should normally withstand a few wipes with a damp cloth. After all, they are wall coverings – I can also imagine that there are different quality standards, similar to paint or flooring. I would recommend looking into that.
I know some people who have a patterned wallpaper (with fish) as an accent between the toilet and the sink (which face each other) – it looked really great -> Pattern: Fish on a blue background.

Hello everyone,
we have finally found what we were looking for. In case anyone else is interested: there are waterproof vinyl wallpapers (which can even be printed with custom designs). This is what we will go with. A nice beach motif 8-). The price is between 120-140€ for 125x245cm (49x96 inches).
Alternatively, we were offered to cover a glass wall with a kind of photo film, but that would have been more expensive. We were advised against putting wallpaper behind a glass wall, as waves could form if the wall is not perfectly flat and/or dust and moisture might accumulate behind the glass.
