Hello everyone,
we would like to install a photo wallpaper on the back wall of the WC. Usually, there are tiles in that area. Should the wallpaper be sealed with some kind of varnish or coating to make it washable? If yes, what product is recommended for that?

I wouldn't do that. However, photo wallpapers or patterned wallpapers should be washable. What could really go wrong? Are you planning to install them all the way down to the floor or only from the height of the pre-wall installation?

The pre-wall installation goes up to the ceiling, so there is no shelf. The wallpaper is supposed to cover the entire wall from floor to ceiling. No idea what happens there – urine splashes?! I’ve never had to clean that off the wall before, but why else are there tiles behind toilets?

Nowadays, it is possible to use glass instead of tiles. You can install a clear glass panel precisely behind the toilet. Behind this, there is your photo canvas. This will then be protected from any moisture exposure by the glass.

Glass would, of course, be an option, but it is more expensive and not something we can install ourselves. It would be a possibility if it is even necessary.

Is there such a thing as a sealant for wallpaper? There are washable paints, but what we would need, if anything, is something clear.
