Hello,
we are building a house with a basement, and it is a party wall construction. The problem is that one wall of the basement partly borders the neighbor’s basement and partly a wall with a foundation and soil underneath. In short, it is not possible to create a working space to apply the insulation.
Therefore, my question is: is there a technique where, after excavation, the perimeter insulation / bituminous coating is applied first and then the basement wall is constructed? The plan was to build the basement using formwork, not a precast basement.
I hope I have explained myself clearly :-)

You don't necessarily need the black coating for waterproof concrete. Only a small amount of water vapor passes through by diffusion—amounts comparable to a shot glass—which is not an issue with normal ventilation.
And in this case, the XPS boards are firmly bonded to the concrete, so it should matter even less.
