I am going to install a pergola / louvered roof on our terrace. It will be freestanding and set on pad foundations.
I would like to position the louvered roof against the facade. To protect the plaster and ensure it is waterproof, I am thinking of using compressible sealing tape to seal the small gaps or unevenness in the plaster. I would place this between the facade and the pergola.
Is this suitable, or is there a better alternative?

I wanted, if possible, not to damage anything on the facade.
It is the south side, with an 80cm (31.5 inches) roof overhang, city villa…

Coletrickle_780821 Nov 2023 13:23Water normally does not reach that area anyway… I usually have about 40cm (16 inches) of clearance, probably thanks to the overhang. I just want to be cautious.

WilderSueden21 Nov 2023 13:28With wind, rain regularly reaches 2 meters (6.5 feet) deep under our patio roof. During storms and thunderstorms, the rain can sometimes reach waist height against the patio door, which is at 3.5 meters (11.5 feet) deep. An overhang of 80 centimeters (31.5 inches) will protect you from normal rain showers, but you will still frequently experience rain in that area.
