micael38726 Nov 2020 16:22Hello, we plan to install a pergola louvered roof approximately 5x5 m (16x16 ft) with side curtains as a terrace covering. Has anyone had experience with the mentioned manufacturers regarding quality/sealing/durability/price? Thanks in advance.

pagoni20208 Mar 2021 10:41I’ve looked into it by now, but we've changed our plans. Originally, a "dark" patio roof was planned, possibly with photovoltaic panels on top. Then we considered a louvered roof. It looks nice and probably costs around 20,000 (20TE) for 20sqm (215 sq ft), but it ultimately doesn’t suit our needs. So, it will probably be a glass roof with an awning either underneath or above it.
We always liked that a glass roof prevents furniture, cushions, and everything on the table from getting damp with dew in the morning. The dew settles on the glass roof, which is good, so everything can stay outside overnight.
With a louvered roof, it would always have to remain closed, even in winter and rain, making it dark underneath. With a glass roof, however, you can sit comfortably and enjoy natural light underneath, even when it’s raining.
In the end, each model has its pros and cons, but we’ve realized that the additional option to shade as desired is very important to us. Besides that, the pricing is in a different range, which ultimately feels better.

Janvandyck10 Mar 2023 10:20You must not use Pratic from Italy under any circumstances. It has been repaired five times and still doesn’t work. Absolutely poor quality and bad service from Pratic. The installation team from Schleswig-Holstein was great but ended up covering all the costs themselves. There were water issues. The mechanics don’t work properly—only lasted three months before breaking again. Overpriced rubbish from Italy. Pratic is the worst louvered roof on the European market.
