HorstBenken4 Jan 2024 08:43Good morning,
I made a mistake: while moving my Pax wardrobes over a high-pile carpet, the rear baseboard on one unit broke off at the bottom and is now detached. The wardrobe is 1 meter wide and 2 meters high (so a 1-meter cabinet). As far as I can tell, it still stands securely and stable (mainly resting on the side panels). Does the baseboard need to be replaced, or can I leave the wardrobe as it is?
On the other wardrobe (same dimensions), one adjustable foot broke off. It doesn’t actually bear any weight, right?
I know... it was a silly move, but that’s how it happened.
The two wardrobes are placed side by side. Would you fix them to the wall with a bracket or screw them together at the top?
Best regards,
Horst

What I would definitely do, however, is connect the cabinets together (Ikea screws are included for this, but you can also use wood screws) and secure each one to the wall with brackets.

What I would definitely do is connect the cabinets together (Ikea includes screws for this, but you can also screw them together yourself) and secure each one to the wall with an angle bracket. I agree—there’s no need to disassemble everything, especially if water tanks or kickboards are involved. The idea of connecting the cabinets to each other and to the wall is definitely a good one and improves stability. That’s exactly how I would do it as well.
