gandalf_817518 Feb 2015 20:14Hello!
We recently bought a house that has a Faktum kitchen installed. We don’t have the budget for a completely new kitchen, but we want to refresh it. A new stove and other appliances are not a problem, and it’s also possible to replace some fronts using the Faktum replacement parts store. However, we urgently need a new, affordable worktop. But where can I find one that fits? The ones for Metod cabinets are too deep, and those available at hardware stores are not deep enough. I would really appreciate any tips or ideas!

IKEA-Experte18 Feb 2015 23:40Hello,
you can cut the one for METOD or at Bauhaus there is a worktop 260x61cm (102x24 inches) for 30 €. If you screw a 1cm (0.4 inch) thick wooden strip onto the back and use a wall connection profile, it fits quite well. The worktop is so inexpensive that you can replace it with a better one when you have more liquidity again. (Enter Universalplatte as a search term on Bauhaus.info.)

Actually, many DIY stores and carpentry shops offer countertops with large depths. Depths of 70, 80, and 90 cm (27.5, 31.5, and 35.5 inches) are not a problem. I wouldn’t let that worry you. We were able to easily install countertops with a depth of 75 cm (30 inches) in our kitchen. For a low cost.
