Hello,

We are now facing the question of which flooring to choose for our basement. Unfortunately, tile installers are very expensive. When comparing prices, we found that using 10 euro DIY store tiles would end up costing about the same as installing an inexpensive light oak parquet. But is parquet really a good idea for the basement? (Our basement is a waterproof concrete shell and connected to a ventilation system.) Thank you for your advice.

You could also install the tiles yourself in the basement.

Basically yes, but for us, it’s limited to painting work only….

How should this be understood?

The time required for tiling is too high for us, and the result will likely look suboptimal.

Why not?

How is the basement being used?
