Chris199013 Apr 2021 12:17Hello everyone, my developer is charging nearly €2,500 (about $2,700) for painting the soffits, but I would prefer not to spend that much and do it myself. Do you have any tips?
Which paint should I use? Which manufacturer?
I would like to choose anthracite color; is there any reason not to?
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, I can’t give you a direct recommendation regarding your questions, but have you asked the builder if they might use plastic profiles? We decided on plastic back then because it keeps the roof box maintenance-free for years and doesn’t require painting.
With 2 full floors, I would need scaffolding every time... which is something I wanted to avoid.

Stefan89013 Apr 2021 12:33We also painted our rafters ourselves with Osmo Landhausfarbe. It was significantly more work than I had expected. So, you should allow enough time for this.
Anthracite is an option, but it looks too dark next to an anthracite roof. Light gray is preferable.
Color recommendation: Consolan or, if there is a Hagebau nearby, their own brand Renovo, which contains Brillux paint but is not as expensive. We also did it ourselves—two people, two days, two coats.
