For the past three days, our facade has been repainted by a company (priming, two coats of paint). It is a house with a facade from the 1960s (location Munich), so without insulation, etc. I looked at the buckets and the company is using "StoPrim Silikat" for the primer (marked as suitable for both exterior and interior) and for the topcoat "StoColor Sil In", which according to the label is an interior paint. I spoke to the painter (he doesn’t speak German very well), and he said it’s the best paint, he has been using it for 15 years, very expensive, etc.

So far everything looks good, but what should be made of this?
Is it acceptable to use this product for exterior facade painting, and does it have advantages or disadvantages?
Is this well known among painters even though the product data sheet says otherwise?
The company must have completed many projects with these products.

Just ask the manufacturer. Maybe they simply made a mistake due to limited German language skills, as the color is also available without "IN".

The paint is clearly intended only for sensitive interior areas. It also has a mold-inhibiting effect. So technically, it is absolutely the wrong choice.
Does it work outdoors? No idea, but it’s possible.

Today I saw the correct buckets, "StoColor Sil," which is an exterior paint.

It’s so frustrating that they always carry around their old buckets; no one knows what’s what anymore... our painters sometimes applied dispersion paint indoors instead of silicate... just completely messed it up...
