Our construction company believes that we should not be painting inside our house or installing flooring before the final inspection. If we do so anyway (with their permission), they do not take responsibility for any damage caused by third parties. This is understandable, as dirty wallpaper and floors would then be our problem. However, they want to hold an open house two days before the final inspection and allow anyone to enter without any supervision.
The fact is that it is easier to work on the walls before interior doors and switches are installed. Naturally, they do not want to take liability for this. I cannot imagine that this is allowed...

construction company, I am the owner of the plot, turnkey excluding walls and floors on the upper floor, including kitchen (although with a significant extra charge)
he wants to hold an open house event two days before handover, after the house is completed. ANYONE can view the entire house without registration or anything like that. Outside there will be free sausages, and greasy fingers are wiped inside. This is not about the shell stage, but the finished house! Everything is installed, kitchen, stairs, tiles, front door (with fingerprint lock), etc. Anyone can open and touch the kitchen drawers, 300-500 people walk up and down the stairs, everyone touches the fingerprint scanner, and so on...
The contract states that house viewings are allowed during the construction phase. There was no mention of an open house event.

However, he wants to hold an open house two days before the final inspection and let EVERYONE in without any kind of control.Regardless of the question of property rights – what speaks against your builder using the construction site to attract new customers? If any damage occurs during the visit, they are liable either way.Best regards, Bauexperte
