ᐅ Steel column painted or timber post plastered

Hello everyone,

as the title already suggests, I am curious to know which option is more expensive. Perhaps both are cost-neutral or differ only marginally.

It concerns supports beneath a balcony, which forms a covered terrace area below. Both options would be supplied and installed by the timber house provider.

I have my own reasoning in mind, but I would first like to hear your opinions and explanations. Looking forward to your insights...

Financially, the untreated wooden post is, in my opinion, unbeatable. 😉
