Hey,

when it says "roof soffit primed white," referring to the eaves box, can you apply the final coat directly on top?

Or is there anything special to consider?

Thanks!

Yes, primers are generally used to create a suitable surface for painting, varnishing, or similar applications.

A primer with insulating properties is recommended because wood extractives may sometimes bleed through, leaving unsightly yellowish stains. This is especially noticeable with a white paint finish.

Remmers Induline 601 was recommended here as the final coat. If I understand correctly, it already contains the primer.

If you can have the painting done directly by the timber construction company, that’s great. We did that, and it wasn’t expensive either. Once the scaffolding is up, the painting goes away very quickly; in our case, there wouldn’t even have been time for painting. Also, it’s one of those tasks that becomes a disadvantage if you postpone it and then leave it unfinished for a while. Plus, working overhead isn’t very enjoyable. I’m glad to hear that things seem to be going well for you!

Best regards,

Is this purely an aesthetic issue, or should it be done (painting) for durability reasons?
