Good evening!
We are currently renovating a house and moving into the lower of the two apartments. At the moment, the house is still in the shell stage, and some renovation work is taking place.

It looks like we will be able to start painting soon. We would like to do this before laying the flooring (light-colored parquet).
The area to be painted is approximately 220–230 sq m (2,370–2,475 sq ft) (estimated on the high side). Ceilings are included; doors and windows are not deducted. The basic plan is to paint everything white, with some walls painted in accent colors.

My main problem is: which paint and manufacturer should I choose? We care a lot about healthy indoor air quality, so preferably a paint that helps prevent moisture and mold growth.
For a long time, I have been considering lime paint, but I have read that it is not abrasion-resistant.

Maybe I can get some advice here before I make a purchase.
Thank you very much in advance!

It's not like you didn't start the quarrel... now you're getting touchy. Too bad 😉

Actually, that’s not the case. There must have been some misunderstanding.
I just want to help here.

@TE By the way, no matter which silicate paint you use, wear a mask! The paint is highly alkaline, and you don’t want those droplets in your lungs.

Hello, I have received a quote.

62.5 liters (16.5 gallons) Keim Innotop, 20 liters (5.3 gallons) Corpert Silicate Concentrate LF

Is this amount realistic for a surface area of 220 sqm (2,368 sq ft) to be painted?
The price would be around 480 net.

I would like to hear an opinion because this is a lot of money for me.

For the paint, I can strongly recommend the Alligator Kieselit Bio Mineral (mineral silicate dispersion paint). For the primer, I would avoid using a deep-penetrating primer and instead opt for a pigmented primer (which is available from Alligator as well as many other manufacturers). We tried both methods. On top of the pigmented primer, we applied a textured roller coat or a base render.

In my opinion, the important thing is to choose a proper system and be willing to invest a bit more money if necessary. In the end, it should be done properly.

Thanks, Alligator, I'll take a look!

Corpert silicate concentrate or Soliprim underneath? (Are 20 liters enough?)

Do we really need 62.5 liters of paint for 220 m² (2370 ft²)?

Are there any other good (perhaps slightly cheaper) sol-silicate paints?

What are you hoping to achieve with the solar silicate paint?
