Hello!
I am curious to know which tasks you carried out as self-performed work, how much money you saved in euros (€) by doing so, and how long it took you, including who helped you and their qualifications.
And most importantly: would you do it again?

You really need to earn well for that.
Even with a gross annual salary of €70,000 for 35 hours per week, you only end up with about €24.50 per hour net.
Even if I take twice as long as the tradesperson, I’m still cheaper in the end, because where else can you find someone for €50 per hour?
On the other hand, not everyone has the opportunity to simply work more hours to earn more money.

Didn’t save anything because the money saved was spent on more materials and equipment.

Solid house with sand-lime brick walls and concrete ceilings. Cutting channels is a real mess, I can tell you.
Of course, only with a qualified electrician.

We installed the flooring (laminate) ourselves, fitted the door frames and doors, completed the final installation of the sanitary fixtures, did some of the landscaping, painted the basement, and completed all the electrical work in the basement.
I’m not sure if we actually saved money since it takes a lot of time and sometimes requires tools we didn’t have beforehand. But at least we did some work on the house ourselves (besides cleaning up).
