Hello!

I am curious to know which tasks you carried out as self-performed work, how much money you saved in euros (€) by doing so, and how long it took you, including who helped you and their qualifications.
And most importantly: would you do it again?

We drilled and routed the slots and boxes for the electrical installations ourselves and installed part of the wiring. Qualification = none, instruction from a master electrician = neighbor. It definitely took more time, but it was also enjoyable. I’m not sure if we saved that much money by doing it ourselves. Otherwise, we will only do the painting and install the switches and outlets ourselves. The rest will probably be done by the tradespeople.

Painting and carpeting ... and landscaping. I would definitely do that again. I installed tiles in my old house without prior experience. As a meticulous woman, I brainstormed with everyone who seemed knowledgeable to me. The installation looked better afterwards than that of a professional, including surface treatment, but I would still advise against it because it affects your health (skin and back).

We have signed off on everything being done by others. So at least we did something ourselves.

Nothing, we have purchased an existing property.

And if I were to build: Nothing. I can use my skills more efficiently and effectively elsewhere (cost/revenue optimized).
