Hello,
I’m wondering which outdoor light I need... I would like to have good lighting all around the house... So that when I come home and it’s dark, I don’t have to be afraid... What wattage/lumen output should I install to get bright enough light? Not a weak light, but also not a powerful floodlight...
Preferably with a motion sensor... I’ve heard there are motion sensors that can distinguish between a person and an animal...
Thank you very much for the help...
We live rather on the edge of town... so somewhat remote...

So you want lighting all around the house?
Not just along a path?
Off the top of my head, I would install two fixtures on the shorter sides and three on the longer sides.
That way you'd have a "fixed lighting" setup. So, nothing cozy.

I don’t know the wattage or lux level. I went to my electrician’s shop, and he recommended and installed them for me. It’s not expensive, about 200 (two hundred) with installation. Such an LED costs only 10.50.

Asking a professional is the best solution. It always depends on the specific circumstances. Where is the electricity located... Your LEDs are installed in a fairly protected position. However, considering the price, they are probably not intended for outdoor use.

Well... when we’re sitting on the terrace, the lights should definitely be off 🙂 I find it hard to trust advice... they usually just try to sell you something anyway... that’s why I’m doing some research here beforehand 🙂 Are there any preferred manufacturers or brands?

So, whether you want it all around the house...
On the terrace, lights (with warmer light and not too bright) without motion sensors and with indoor switches.
Where it should be bright, LED floodlights with motion sensors.
Maybe you can make a sketch sometime. Then we will have a better idea.

We installed Paulmann Plug&Shine afterwards and embedded it in concrete in the flower bed. We control it via Alexa using a routine.
