Hello everyone, we are currently facing a problem. Our bungalow was built into a slope, so our basement is at ground level. We have two entrance doors. The first leads into the basement plus a separate apartment, and the second leads into the bungalow above.
Now we are desperately looking for a solution to access the first floor (bungalow). The house has more of a country style, so a metal staircase—I’ve already had a few designs on the table—looked like a fire escape. Wood is basically not an option for us due to the high maintenance required.
Does anyone have ideas on how best to design or plan the staircase to reach the first floor? We have also considered a prefabricated concrete staircase with a landing, but we haven’t made much progress here.
Suggestions with pictures are very welcome.
Thank you very much!

We planned this ourselves. The entrance at the bottom is for the granny flat. There is already an internal staircase. Currently, we enter the house through the granny flat entrance and go upstairs using the internal staircase.
We knew the staircase would be challenging, but there was no other solution due to the room layout.

I would never even consider adding another staircase in front of it.
Please share the floor plans. Or at least the entrance areas upstairs and downstairs.

However, this will certainly not be cheap and would have been better incorporated during the construction.

I would also consider a balcony solution on the left side of the house.
6 or 8 posts,
balcony at the top left,
covered seating area at the bottom left,
glassed-in staircase in the center,
powder-coated metal.
I estimate around 10,000 to 50,000 euros,
25,000 euros would be reasonable.

We knew the staircase would be tricky, but there was no other option because of the room layout. Did the construction company not have any suggestions either?
