Hello!
We are in the final stages of planning and would like to hear your opinions on the floor plan.
The kitchen and dining area form one large open space. The living room can be separated by sliding doors.

I like the house design, especially the roof shape. It reminds me of our own plans ;-) (which I’ll share today as well).
I would also make the WC larger and include a shower. Since you plan to live there for 40 years, it’s important to consider aging needs ;-) Your budget should allow for this in your planning. Also, if there is a child, privacy can become an issue in a shared bathroom.

Regarding the bathroom: I would mirror the right half horizontally (in the floor plan). This way, you won’t be constantly walking past the window before or after showering, and when entering the room, you won’t be confronted immediately with the toilet (again, privacy). The wall by the toilet doesn’t really provide any protection. Maybe consider redesigning the shower a bit.

Downstairs, on the terrace side, I would design the two windows (kitchen + living area) as floor-to-ceiling. It not only looks better but is also more practical.

Best regards,
yvonne

I basically like it.

A few suggestions:
- The pellet storage should be directly next to the utility room; any distance between them becomes annoying over time.
- In my opinion, the bedroom is a bit large; it would be better to make it smaller and allocate more space to the children's rooms instead.

As I mentioned at the beginning, I am ultimately building the house for myself because I will live there for 40 years, and the children, if any, for at most 25 years. Besides, currently no children are planned, and I don’t think that will change. There will be an office in the middle and a guest room in the other one.

That doesn’t really matter. I don’t have children either yet, but in my opinion, rooms like an office, children’s room, or guest room should take priority over a bedroom when it comes to space.

I don’t need that much space for the bedroom since I’m just sleeping there 🙂

But that doesn’t mean it should be an 8sqm (86 sq ft) jail cell either 😀

Nice house. But why are the children's rooms usually planned to be so small? The master bedroom is always as large as possible, but what about the kids? The children grow up. Friends come to visit. You only sleep in the bedroom, and you spend the rest of the day downstairs. Surely the children won't stay in their rooms all day either, but they will retreat to their rooms more often than we parents do. We designed our house so that our children each have over 18m² (193 sq ft). Our bedroom is about 15m² (161 sq ft). But well, everyone has their own opinions.

Hi,
I just have a comment about the pellet room! It’s a bit small... We also had just under 5 square meters (54 square feet), and the heating engineer calculated for us that it wouldn’t even last for two winters. There seems to be a formula for this, but I don’t remember it exactly—maybe keep it in mind and ask about it...

Otherwise, I think the house is very nice. The above comments are valid, but after all, you will be living inside it 🙂
