Hello, we are having a turnkey house built with a developer. The heating system was specified in detail in the contract. During construction, it became clear that the system was oversized. We insisted on a heat loss calculation, which was also included in the construction specification, but the heating installer initially wanted to size the system based on experience. After the heat loss calculation, a significantly smaller system was installed, with fewer heating circuits and less piping.

Can we claim a credit? The heating installer only wants to credit us €60 per saved manifold. The saved material costs alone amount to around €2000 gross. Maybe someone knows more about this, thanks.

I prefer not to comment on contractual matters.

But do you really want to do without heating circuits and close pipe spacing?
What does the current plan look like?

The house is finished. The heating system is well designed, but also adjustable. This has been independently verified twice. ☺️

If everything is properly designed and well built, why would you want to reject compensation?

The heating engineer paid significantly less for the system. I find it reasonable that we should benefit from that as well. After all, we have to cover all additional costs. I’m not asking for any compensation‍♀️

fewer heating circuits, fewer pipes.
Really? Usually, after a proper heating system design, these things increase.
