I would like to order high-quality wooden doors online. Has anyone here had experience with any online retailers that reliably deliver wooden doors (white)? Unfortunately, I miss being able to physically inspect the doors when ordering online. Ordering through a local carpenter I know would unfortunately take over 4 months. I will be installing the doors myself.

What do you consider high-quality wooden doors? White lacquer? Milling details? Particleboard core? Solid wood?

That doesn’t matter. Just like in the other post about modifying an existing floor plan in an older house with DIY renovation, it can easily take twice as long before you’re ready to install doors. Doors can often be the final trade.

They will be CPL doors. No milling. We are still unsure whether to choose solid particleboard or solid wood.

In my opinion, doors should be installed last anyway, because if you put in the floors first, you often have to trim door frames or shorten door leaves, and so on. You can also save yourself the trouble of taping off the frames when painting.

What do you expect from solid wood if you’re planning to cover it with a plastic layer? That’s basically what CPL is. You might as well use hollow-core particleboard, which is much cheaper and no one will notice the difference. How could they?

PS:
CPL doesn’t exactly look high-end either. I would use it in any rental apartment. We went with white lacquer, which I find much more attractive.

High-quality wooden doors and CPL (Continuous Pressure Laminate) are like oil and water. High-quality wooden doors are (hand) painted, sometimes equipped with moldings, cutouts, etc. They are also custom-made.

For my recent projects, I ordered doors from Sapeli through a specialist dealer online (they come from the Czech Republic). I chose white hand-painted flush doors with tubular core construction and stainless steel moldings, designed as flush-fitting doors with magnetic latch locks. Prices ranged from €550 to €780 per door depending on size (most expensive door with moldings and toughened safety glass cutout), including the frame and locks. Stainless steel door handle sets cost just under €30 each. Prices are gross, excluding delivery.
