Hello everyone, we are just starting to build and are now planning the kitchen and floor tiles. We are having a hard time imagining if everything will match well, so it would be great to hear some opinions. We will have an open living/kitchen area and are considering dark floor tiles with a metallic look (black/silver) and a kitchen with a wood effect in gray oak or silver oak, so also relatively dark. The countertop will be gray, with silver trims, and the walls will be light. There is plenty of natural light, and the kitchen/living area is quite spacious. Do you think it might look too dark together? Thank you very much for your opinions. Best regards

Nice tile!

If a kitchen consultant is too lazy to make a few clicks in their software to give you a more realistic rendering of your future living space, I would say: Move on to the next kitchen consultant.

The walls will be off-white and the ceiling white. There is a large window in the kitchen and two doors plus floor-to-ceiling windows in the living area, so plenty of natural light will come in. We really like the tiles and the kitchen front as well—a tough decision...

Ok, that’s a good tip. We have a kitchen planning appointment next week, maybe they can explain it better. Thanks

I also like the tile!
However, combined with the silver area, I actually find it hard to imagine.

The tile seems too dark for me, especially for the living area.

But luckily, my taste doesn’t have to match yours.

Do you have a sample tile that you can hold up against the front?

Yes, we have a sample tile that we will take with us to the appointment next week. Maybe it will be easier to visualize then.
