Good morning everyone!

I have the following issue: In my house, there is a main electrical shaft where all the empty conduits run.
The picture shows this shaft before it was plastered (with quite a few empty conduits inside).

The photo of the shaft was taken on the ground floor; directly below it, about 50cm (20 inches) lower, is the main distribution board.
What I want to do now: I plan to place my Wi-Fi router next to this shaft and therefore need to run about four cables down to the basement. Unfortunately, the empty conduits do not end in this area, but there are unused conduits inside this shaft going upwards that I would like to use.

What do you think, how has the shaft been sealed? Can you access the conduits without damaging anything? The plaster is quite crumbly...
Rohbau: Ziegelwände, Kabelstränge und Rohre in einer Wandnische.

Possibly ribbed expanded metal mesh embedded in the render. Just ask your plasterer.

Hello Paddo 5819

Regarding your question

“Can you easily access the pipes without causing any damage?”

The clear answer is NO.

It’s not possible to do this without causing damage. Or how do you expect to open the wall without damaging it? But I guess that’s not exactly what you meant. You were probably referring to the pipes. Whether you cause any damage or not is something no one can say for sure—it entirely depends on you, whether you work carefully or go after it like using dynamite.

How the shaft was sealed—how are we supposed to know? It could be as klblb wrote, it might be covered with drywall, or it may have been concreted over. Everything is possible.
