Hello community,
We completed a composite screed in the garage over the summer. It has already fully dried.
Tiles are planned to be installed on the screed. Due to time constraints, I will probably only be able to lay the tiles in spring.
Would it be possible to drive a wet car onto the screed during winter, or could the screed be damaged? Also, could dirt from the car cause problems when laying the tiles?

I’m used to it being this way too. Tiling the garage floor is new to me, and honestly, it’s not really necessary. Yes, after a few years you can see marks from the car, but it is a garage after all 🙂 A tiled garage floor is definitely much easier to keep clean compared to just concrete. It’s also more comfortable if you ever have a party in the garage due to bad weather. 😉
My parents had only the concrete slab for years before they finally tiled it.

My parents had only bare concrete on their slab for years before finally tiling it. Using the garage as a party room is exactly the reason for tiling it.
Unfortunately, I won’t manage to finish it before winter, but I also don’t want my wife to have to scrape ice off her car if she has to park outside.

The tiles will cover any stains anyway. That’s exactly why I wouldn’t park outside now, and definitely wouldn’t start using covers.Similar topics
