Hello,

I have the following problem:

I still have a pull-out Komplement pants hanger, an older model that looks like this:

Metal frame with vertical rods on wooden floor; tools lying next to it.

A few days ago, I bought a Pax wardrobe with a cabinet measuring 100 x 58 cm (39 x 23 inches).

Unfortunately, I can no longer find the installation instructions for this old Komplement pants hanger—only for the newer model, which works differently...

I can’t seem to correctly install my old pants hanger. It shouldn’t be that difficult: mounting the two rails with rollers on the left and right inside the cabinet and sliding in the hanger. But somehow, it’s not working smoothly: 1) it doesn’t fit properly, it comes out of the rail quite easily. It seems like the cabinet might be a few centimeters too wide, so the rails are set a little too far apart—is that possible?

Also, I wonder if it’s supposed to have a stopper? When I pull the pants hanger out too far, it comes completely out into my hands, with no blocking mechanism. Is that normal?

Furthermore, I have a question about the rails with the rollers… There are also horizontally positioned rollers inside (as seen in my photos below). The rail can be installed so that these rollers face either downwards or upwards. How should the rail be installed correctly?

Ideally, I would really appreciate having the installation manual for this pants hanger, so I would also know if any accessories might be missing =)

Below are pictures showing how it looks currently. I have mounted it as best I can, but the problems described are still present. I don’t think I have installed it correctly :S

I also called Ikea, but that annoying menu doesn’t connect me to an appropriate employee who could provide older installation instructions. :/

Could you please help me?

Thank you very much!

Hi,

the cabinet interior measures 96.2 cm (38 inches) in width, from the inside of the left wall to the inside of the right wall.
The pull-out frame itself is 92.6 cm (36.5 inches) wide, and one rail is 3.6 cm (1.4 inches) wide (measured from the outside to the outer edge of a wheel).

Attached are some photos of the rails and the pull-out frame.

Can you make any sense of this?

Thanks and best regards!

It’s definitely not an issue with the cabinet itself.
In the picture, the track is not visible from the inside. There must be some kind of pins in it that act as stops.
The rollers appear to be bent differently. I would try straightening a pair of them and testing how it works.

Sorry, what exactly do you mean by the rail not being visible from the inside? I thought I had shown all relevant sides, or maybe not? Here are some more pictures.

(Or do you possibly mean the other inner side of this? There’s nothing there, it’s just smooth.)

I don’t want to forcibly bend anything and risk damage. I’m actually quite sure the inner rollers are intentionally angled like this. You can see it a bit on this Google image as well:

If everything is perfectly smooth, maybe something was attached at the back? Or inserted into the hole? And since it wasn’t removed during installation, an attempt was made to lift the part out, which bent the rollers?
