Hi,

I noticed a type of water pipe in the basement leading to the water meter, but I’m not sure what kind it is or what it’s used for.
Can someone provide information based on the pictures?
What is this water pipe?

Thanks and regards,

This really looks like an old water pipe.
It runs from the basement ceiling, has a flange, and continues to the old water meter.
If there is no water meter, the pipe can be removed since it is decommissioned.
If there is a water meter, turn on the water and watch the meter to see if it moves.
If it moves, this is your water supply connection and still in use.
The pipe is galvanized iron and between 30 and 80 years old.

Thanks for the information. Yes, there is still a functional water meter indicating that water is available in the house.
Good to know it’s not lead, but it will be renovated nonetheless.
