Hi,

I am currently planning to build a new house on our property and then demolish the old house.
Now my question is: Can I take my current heating system, which is 7.5 years old, into the new house? I mean just the boiler with an instantaneous water heater – the pipes and radiators are about the same age, but… hmm. Is that worth it? How long do gas boilers typically last with regular maintenance?

Thanks, Bromi

In principle, yes, provided it meets the energy saving regulations or KfW certification requirements. It needs to be a gas condensing boiler, and above all, the performance specifications must be suitable. However, this will most likely not be the case. Adjustments might then be necessary. So, it should be checked. Good boilers can last between 15 and 22 years.
