how should the situation be assessed when, during the selection process—which took place some time ago—certain items were chosen from the included standard options, but those exact options are no longer available later on?

Do you then have to accept receiving other standard alternatives that you may not like?

Yes. Home builders can only offer what they receive from their suppliers. If wholesalers discontinue tiles, sinks, etc., how is the builder supposed to include them as options?

It is just a shame that the selection of materials took place for us already a year ago, and now once again, due to delays caused by the general contractor, we are the ones who miss out.

A selection process that far in advance is not common either; something clearly isn’t going right there.
Hopefully, the rest will proceed smoothly and quickly now.

But you can choose what you want to receive now, right?
