Hello everyone,

We have now had our floor plan designed by an architect.
We are reaching out to various companies to get quotes.

What is important to ensure that the quotes we receive are as comparable as possible?
We have already written a list with points such as:
KfW 40+
Roof insulation
Oak staircase design
Wood-aluminum windows
Living and dining area with venetian blinds (remaining electric roller shutters)
Air-to-water heat pump

Is there perhaps a kind of template for this?

However, with different engine outputs, upholstery options, tongue load capacities, and trunk sizes… you really have to weigh these factors yourself, as they can’t be directly compared.
Exactly, this is where I need to decide whether the leather interior from option A is more important to me or if the simple fabric upholstery from option B is sufficient.

But doesn’t he have to? He already has a floor plan and is now requesting quotes from different general contractors. These quotes will include the scope of work, so it becomes clear what’s missing and what might be desired as extras. Then you compare, and ideally, if there’s a preference, samples are reviewed or the scope of work is adjusted accordingly. After that, you get a revised quote that fits your needs. You can then sign that. This process also reveals the true value of the initial price.
I think this will be the way forward for us.

Not everything is as obvious as upholstery. If you have already started working with an architect, just continue with them and have them prepare a tender. The architect can ask you the right questions, especially about the points you may have implicitly considered during planning but never actually expressed.
