Pete1909Dear community,
due to soaring prices, we would appreciate an evaluation of the attached quote. We are building on a slight slope and therefore need two levels secured by L-shaped retaining stones. Additionally, the earthworks around the house are included, as well as the required paving without materials.
Do you think the price is reasonable or rather too expensive? Your feedback would be a great help to us!
Thank you all very much

If materials like concrete and gravel are included with the L-shaped retaining walls, I think that’s completely reasonable. It doesn’t seem particularly expensive to me, and you could easily pay an additional 10,000 euros for that. However, it always depends on local conditions, such as whether the ground is suitable for backfilling, and so on.

You should get four quotes, preferably with detailed specifications (which you now have). Then choose the best one (which doesn’t have to be the cheapest). It doesn’t matter at all what Karl paid two months ago or Willi paid a year ago 500 km (310 miles) away.

(I assume this comment, or one like it, has appeared many times in this forum already – copyright therefore not mine) You’re oversimplifying with your statement. Right now, it’s not easy to get quotes because landscaping contractors are fully booked and sometimes offer exorbitant prices or don’t provide quotes at all for such small projects. As a layperson, I can’t determine if an offer is fair or not.
I am familiar with the services provided and have no doubts about the quality, but it is still important for me to know if the price is reasonable in the current market.
As you might notice, comments like yours do not help anyone.

Alternatively, you could do it yourself; with that amount of money, you can take some unpaid time off and even rent some equipment.
