Hello everyone,

About three weeks ago, I purchased an IKEA kitchen and, apart from the installation, I let IKEA handle everything (measurement, planning, purchasing service, delivery, etc.). During the planning, the IKEA staff member told me that the wall trim in Birch Numerär was currently out of stock for my kitchen but would be reordered.
To avoid delaying the delivery, we removed the trim from the plan, and I agreed to look for it myself.

So far, I haven’t been able to find the trim anywhere. I checked IKEA stores in Düsseldorf, Kaarst, Essen, Cologne, and even at IKEA in the Netherlands, and I was told that the trims are no longer available.
The kitchen was sold to me three weeks ago, and I find it hard to believe that IKEA’s kitchen planners are not aware that this trim for a countertop is being discontinued when they are selling me that same countertop at the same time. The real wood birch countertop is still part of the METOD kitchen system and is still being sold in connection with it.

Does anyone know if this is a supply shortage, or if the trims are actually being discontinued? If so, will there be a replacement?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hello again,

can’t anyone here really help me or say something about this?

Best regards,

Only an IKEA employee could say something about that, and they are very rarely seen here at the moment.
