Hello everyone,
we are currently planning roof windows. Below you will find the attic floor plan, where the windows have been placed provisionally:

As you can see, there are also windows on the gable side. The roof space will be used as a studio and has no other interior walls.
Are 6 roof windows too many? Maybe you have some experience with this.

Yes, we are working on that in parallel. That’s why I asked about the quantity of roof windows. Surely you’re not serious about repeating your initial question???
We could just as well start again from post 2 🤨
As I have already said: your floor area needs natural light. And if roof windows are not an option (for whatever reason), then use gable windows or centrally placed windows. You need to use your own judgment now. I would have expected you to have already proposed your own placement and adjustments.

Where is north? I can only agree with @ypg. Currently, the windows are evenly distributed. You once mentioned that one should probably be opposite the stairway.
So, take a closer look, check where different areas could be within the room, and where windows would work nicely. And regarding photovoltaics... where exactly is north?

hanghaus202312 Nov 2023 10:12If photovoltaic panels are planned, it is better to have 2 large roof windows instead of 6 small ones. Or at least not spread out over the entire area. Where is north? It is better to place the roof windows there.

Stein202312 Nov 2023 20:31Sorry guys for the late reply. North is at the top of the plan.
