Hello,

We are currently planning the construction of our single-family house.

At the moment, only a prefabricated garage (6 x 3 m (20 x 10 feet)) is planned.

Now we are considering building a solid extension to the prefabricated garage (3 x 2.5 m (10 x 8 feet)).

However, this seems almost too expensive for me (about 6000 euros).

What alternatives are there?

Best regards and thanks!

Probably too obvious: garden shed?!

Good luck

Paving the area yourself and then placing a garden shed on it. You can manage that with €1,500.

Why not just build a 9x3 meter (30x10 feet) garage right away? It costs about 2,000€ more.

Prefabricated garage with storage room (extension)... at Z.pf just under 11,000 for 3 x 5.5 meters (10 x 18 feet) + 3 x 2.5 meters (10 x 8 feet)... Other sizes are also available.

We faced the same question and eventually decided to follow ypgs's suggestion. We could have gotten the garage after tough negotiations for €10,000, but with the foundation and everything else, it would have ended up around €11,500.

So, we first canceled the whole plan. Luckily, because today I am more convinced than ever that a carport with an extension is the better option. These prefabricated garages are simply too narrow since the walls take up too much space.

You can get a carport with a 3x3m (10x10 ft) extension for about €4,000 to €5,000, and it can be very decent.
