ᐅ No Construction Start Date from the Home Builder! What Can We Do?

Unfortunately, we were misled by the sales talk of a prefabricated house builder saying, "you will have moved in by the end of the year." We do not have a fixed construction start date in the contract! Is this legal? Can we possibly challenge it?
We are now being stalled. The company claims that production of the house will only start once the foundation slab has been approved. We are responsible for the foundation slab ourselves, but as long as I don’t know when the house will be delivered, we won’t pour a foundation slab that might just weather away.
Has anyone had a similar experience?

These contracts must include a binding completion date. If this is not possible, the builder must provide information on the construction timeline. Why should a company start producing a house if you haven’t completed your preparatory work?And honestly: why isn’t the foundation slab in place yet? You could have done that long ago and really need to take responsibility here. Or will you later refuse the house too, because it might "weather away"?
So:
1. Talk and review the contract
2. Have the foundation slab poured
3. Involve a construction supervisor in parallel
4. Wait for the house according to the timeline in the contract
5. Move in and enjoy
Our house was only put into production after measuring the foundation slab.
This is quite standard with our supplier (Fullwood).

So why not just have the foundation slab installed quickly now?
But be careful: Are there any other site-related requirements that you need to fulfill?
If you are worried about weather exposure, have the foundation slab covered after approval.
