Hello,
We are currently planning a Next 125 kitchen for our house project. Our Next 125 kitchen is handleless with a glass front. It consists of a kitchen unit that is 4 m (13 feet) long. This includes a tall cabinet for the oven and one for the freezer-fridge combination. In addition, there are two tall cabinets with internal pull-outs. There are also two base cabinets with drawers, each 80 cm (31.5 inches) wide. Additionally, there are two wall cabinets and a shelf with a sliding door.

We have also planned an island that is 3.12 m (10.2 feet) long and 1.20 m (3.9 feet) wide. The cooktop and sink are installed on it.

The total cost for the kitchen, including Siemens appliances, a Falmec ventilation hood, delivery, and installation, is 21,000 euros. The appliance portion accounts for 5,900 euros. What do you think about this price?

As mentioned before, the salesperson at the furniture store already explained the concept of fixed prices before revealing the price and said that 50% below the brochure price is usually the starting point for a serious offer – no idea if this also depends on the manufacturer, but I think it does. For electrical appliances, Miele, for example, seems to offer significantly less discount than, say, the BSH Group.
The salesperson at the kitchen studio didn’t even mention that and went straight to regional pricing.
Of course, when a salesperson just presents the catalog prices, that’s more of a comedy act – by the way, those are probably the 50% discounts on fully custom-designed kitchens.

If a salesperson then simply presents the catalog prices, that’s rather comical – by the way, those are probably the 50% discounts on fully planned kitchens.

The 50% discount mainly applies to brands like Nolte, Nobilia, and similar. I have not heard or experienced this with Next 125, Rempp, Leicht, and others.

We decided on Miele... Maybe that’s why we probably couldn’t get the 40% discount.

It is quite conceivable that offering a 50% discount is primarily aimed at marketing to customer groups who are willing to spend a maximum of €10,000 (about $11,000) rather than €20,000 (about $22,000). But it is also very possible that the profit margins on high-end kitchens are significantly higher... it’s no different with a Mercedes. What I mean is that with your money, you aren’t just paying for higher-quality workmanship, but also for lower production volumes, advertising, consulting, innovation, and the brand.

Hi,

I can’t say anything about the kitchen cabinets, but regarding the Siemens appliances: I’m also installing only Siemens products, which have already been ordered at about 40-45% of the recommended retail prices. For example, the oven’s recommended retail price was around €1400, and I paid €600. So you can definitely save more than 30%.

Best regards,

Andreas

Hello Andreas,
could you tell me where you ordered the kitchen appliances?

The first point of contact is usually comparison websites like Idealo and others.

I would be cautious if these parts come from the internet, because if they break during installation, you will have trouble. Whoever made the mistake and the reinstallation will have to be paid for separately.
