Hello dear forum,

So far, I have been a silent reader gathering some ideas here in the forum, and now our plan is at a stage where we would like to get some opinions or comments from you.

There is still a window missing in the guest bathroom, in the second child’s bedroom, and in the living room on the north side.

We are also considering whether the entrance area is spacious enough and if the distance between the sofa and the built-in wall unit in the living room works well.

Please take a look, and we would appreciate your feedback.

Best regards

Do people actually read in front of the window? Wouldn’t it be more likely in bed or the living room? What kind of cabinet is that supposed to be? I don’t think it’s very practical (but maybe I’m just not imaginative enough). Do you always have to carry the vacuum cleaner up from the basement, as well as laundry, drinks, etc.?

Are you insisting on having a dining table in the kitchen? I never had one and never missed it.

I would skip that table and connect the kitchen, dining area, and living room in a practical way. This way, you get a nice kitchen and can enlarge the entrance area.

Hello,

First of all, thank you for your comments. We had another meeting with our architect today and discussed the points.

He is revising the entrance area and the living room. As soon as we have the updated plans, I will upload them here.

Just a quick note: the kitchen and dining area will be separated by a sliding door, and possibly the entrance will be moved to the north side, while the study will probably be removed.

Thank you and best regards

Good morning,

Since I suddenly had a business trip, we have only now been able to review the revised plans in detail.

We have mirrored the basement and removed the home office. This allowed us to slightly enlarge the living room (distance between sofa and built-in wall unit) and redesign the entrance area to use it as such.

We were able to keep the total living area unchanged, and nothing has basically changed on the upper floor except for the staircase.

What we have noticed or will change:

- Window strip in the stairwell centered instead of on the left (if there are no objections)
- Two windows in the garage are sufficient (the window on the west side will be removed)
- Window above the sofa in the living room is missing from the exterior view

We have now removed the third floor-to-ceiling window/door in the living room; it feels more balanced that way.

@lastdrop: It is not a dining table but a counter, which will be moved along with the rest of the kitchen for now.

First of all, many thanks for the comments so far, and I look forward to any further feedback.

Thanks and regards

So either our plans are so bad that they are not even worth discussing,

or so good that they don’t require any discussion 😀

or did I ask the wrong question?

Thanks and best regards
