ᐅ New issue: Kitchen sink

There are some sinks at IKEA that require a base cabinet at least 50 cm (20 inches) wide.
50 cm (20 inches) is also the size I would need.
But IKEA doesn’t offer anything like that.
I only have one option to place the dishwasher and sink along this wall because of the connections. The maximum space I have there is 117 cm (46 inches), and then the stove starts around the corner.
I can’t extend the plumbing because rearranging the appliances is not possible due to doors or windows.
The very small sink that fits in a 40 cm (16 inches) base cabinet has no draining board, which is inconvenient for washing up.
The water from washed dishes would just flow all over the countertop.
This is probably the end of my IKEA kitchen dream.

... if you take off the IKEA glasses for a moment: There are plenty of sinks with drainboards that fit into a 40cm (16 inches) base cabinet. With your measurement of 117cm (46 inches), you are losing 17cm (7 inches), but you could make good use of that space, for example with a pull-out towel rack.

I don’t have a draining board and never want to have one again. Dishes go straight into the dishwasher, and I usually dry everything I wash by hand immediately. In case I don’t dry something right away, I use a tray to place the items on. The tray is much easier to clean and dry than a draining board. Additionally, this gives me more workspace.
