Hello everyone!
Four weeks ago, we planted and reseeded our lawn.

Unfortunately, the ENTIRE lawn is heavily overrun with weeds.

The grass doesn’t stand a chance to grow properly.

Last Saturday, I sprayed Roundup weed killer on the lawn. The weeds are slowly dying and turning yellow.

The grass that managed to grow is still standing strong.

What should I do next?

How can I remove the dead weeds within 1-2 weeks?

Can I simply use a scarifier (lawn dethatcher) to treat the lawn?

I want to overseed afterward.

How would you proceed?

I believe the technical term is weeding.

Which fertilizer or approach would be a good alternative?
1. Mechanical weed control instead of chemical methods.
2. Choosing the right soil rather than trying to "correct" unsuitable soil with fertilizer.
3. I have had very positive experience using Effective Microorganisms (EM) in the garden.

Since Robocop started working, it’s been nicely sealed, but unfortunately it also distributes the annoying annuals.
Great guy, your friend –
Wow, is that a picture from Wimbledon?

We had proper soil delivered, meaning a topsoil substrate suitable for lawns.
The first year was fine, but by the second year it was full of weeds. They grow faster than the grass.

At least one hour every week was spent weeding, which left gaps in the lawn. We also have children.

Then we applied Compo Unkraut frei (weed control product) naturally before a rain shower at the start of the season. That kept the weeds away for a year.

Eventually, the grass becomes so dense that it almost controls everything by itself.
