Hello everyone!
Four weeks ago, we planted and reseeded our lawn.

Unfortunately, the ENTIRE lawn is heavily overrun with weeds.

The grass doesn’t stand a chance to grow properly.

Last Saturday, I sprayed Roundup weed killer on the lawn. The weeds are slowly dying and turning yellow.

The grass that managed to grow is still standing strong.

What should I do next?

How can I remove the dead weeds within 1-2 weeks?

Can I simply use a scarifier (lawn dethatcher) to treat the lawn?

I want to overseed afterward.

How would you proceed?

Your comment is as inappropriate as the Garden of Horrors group.

My comment was inappropriate, yes, I admit that, it wasn’t the question and you don’t have to write down every thought here (which I still find a pity).
But the Garden of Horrors group is great! Since then, my partner has also wanted an excavator bucket in the future garden (well, actually the whole excavator 🙄 ).

Please focus on your own garden. Thank you!

Good grief, these moral preachers are really something else.

@Tamstar I also prefer proper gardens rather than lawn deserts with cherry laurel. But you can’t just say that to a stranger—no one likes to be personally criticized, it makes them defensive and they stop listening, so it’s pointless. That’s why I asked about garden beds instead of saying: oh no, so much boring grass.

Oh no, so much dull lawn

Better to have a green lawn than a garden full of non-native plants just because they look nice.

You see what I mean?

When it comes to taste, there is no right or wrong.

And many fail at that and prefer a flower meadow instead
