Hello everyone!
Four weeks ago, we planted and reseeded our lawn.

Unfortunately, the ENTIRE lawn is heavily overrun with weeds.

The grass doesn’t stand a chance to grow properly.

Last Saturday, I sprayed Roundup weed killer on the lawn. The weeds are slowly dying and turning yellow.

The grass that managed to grow is still standing strong.

What should I do next?

How can I remove the dead weeds within 1-2 weeks?

Can I simply use a scarifier (lawn dethatcher) to treat the lawn?

I want to overseed afterward.

How would you proceed?

Oh, such a nice large area... will there be any perennials planted there?
And why does the maple have stones at its base? Those just heat up the soil in that spot, so it will need more water...

A few flower beds might still be added.
On the right, we have already planted a cherry laurel hedge. Another will follow at the back by the street as soon as the road is finished.

The maple will manage with that small amount of gravel... Otherwise, it wouldn’t fit the overall look.

A shame, you could already guess from the front photo with the huge paved area, but still hoped: Well, maybe the backyard is nice and green.
And now it’s a dead lawn desert with “maybe” a flower bed and a useless cherry laurel hedge...
But the main thing is that the overall appearance fits.

@Golfi90 There are companies that analyze your soil and recommend the right fertilizer and composition for it.

The analysis costs about 30-40 euros. In Facebook groups, this step is quite common.

If you want more information, I can gladly send you the link via private message.

For me, at most 50% is weed-free. I’ll have to follow the advice from @tomtom79. The only thing I can say is that this drought-tolerant lawn is really good. So far, I haven’t had to water it, and it’s still nicely green with lush tufts. There’s no comparison to the lawn behind the house.
@tomtom79, I’m also interested in the analysis. I fertilize, but it doesn’t seem to help. I tried the fertilizer from @Nordlys and also measured the pH value.
