Hello everyone!
Four weeks ago, we planted and reseeded our lawn.
Unfortunately, the ENTIRE lawn is heavily overrun with weeds.
The grass doesn’t stand a chance to grow properly.
Last Saturday, I sprayed Roundup weed killer on the lawn. The weeds are slowly dying and turning yellow.
The grass that managed to grow is still standing strong.
What should I do next?
How can I remove the dead weeds within 1-2 weeks?
Can I simply use a scarifier (lawn dethatcher) to treat the lawn?
I want to overseed afterward.
How would you proceed?

At just under 450m2 (4845 sq ft), I’m not going to start pulling weeds by hand.Don’t be like that. I have 2000F
fach1werk16 Jun 2020 08:38I’ve given up. My partner wanted a lawn along the field edge, while I preferred a wildflower meadow that requires less frequent mowing. For three years now, I’ve been on my knees removing weeds from the cursed lawn. Nature spreads its abundance of species faster than I can keep up. Every time, I fill the holes afterward.
In autumn, I also plant an early crocus in each hole. It looks lovely in late winter and has finished blooming before mowing is needed. This summer, I decided not to keep fighting nature just to satisfy my partner’s wish. Green is green, and once he has mowed, it looks good enough. I only prevent thistles, nettles, and bindweed from growing tall.
Best regards,
Gabriele
