Hello,
we want to install the new Morliden doors on our older Billy bookshelf. And for the first time, something isn’t working with IKEA! The door hinges need to be positioned deeper at the top and higher at the bottom than stated in the instructions because there are no holes at the specified mounting height on our Billy at all. That wouldn’t even be a problem if it weren’t for the following:
The hinge mounting screws for Morliden are much thinner than the pre-drilled Billy holes – they don’t hold firmly. The corresponding screws for the Aneboda doors on our other Billy bookshelf look different – they are thicker and shorter and hold securely!!
What is wrong here?
Thanks, Tremosine

1. 2. The hinge consists of parts (see installation instructions) 115913 and 115920. Previously, it was 115913 and 115914. So, only the mounting plate is different. The distance to the edge should be the same (37 mm (1.5 inches)).

The hinges cannot be purchased separately; they are only available as spare parts through customer service. Whether they are in stock in Lichtenberg is not important because if not, the mounting plates can be ordered for you and shipped to your home. That is, as long as the other mounting plates are still available.

Using old hinges, even if they fit, is pointless because the holes in the new Billy have different positions.
If you have already made such an unfortunate choice of partner, do you have someone with carpentry skills in your circle of acquaintances? The installation service might not be able to fit the new door onto the old cabinet. You should ask in advance whether qualified staff will be available.
