Baustar-120 Feb 2009 12:11Hi everyone, I’m wondering if you have any experience or ideas on how to make house construction as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible? Are there any companies that specialize in natural building materials?

Biological Building Materials
Hello,
As I mentioned before, I have had very good experiences with Biocalce. If needed, I can look up the contact information of the sales manager and send it to you by email. I have been and still am very satisfied. Just send me an email if you need it.

daumenblau-123 Feb 2009 21:11I can only agree, as my daughter is partially allergic to solvents and similar substances. Two years ago, we decided on the same manufacturer. Conclusion: Good advice, good value for money, excellent result. The product is not available everywhere but can be obtained through the Swiss factory customer service at almost any building materials supplier. I should still have the phone number somewhere.

DerOtto-115 May 2009 08:36Hello,
I recently read online that it makes a lot of sense to use ecological insulation materials. For example, Keitel-Haus, a prefabricated house manufacturer, recommends using hemp for insulation (but there are certainly other suppliers as well...). According to their information, hemp fibers not only provide good sound and thermal insulation but are also skin-friendly and resistant to mold. If that is really true, I find it very interesting and definitely worth considering in house construction.
There are also tips for allergy-friendly homes and more, but I won’t repeat everything here—just have a look yourself 🙂
Best regards!

As an alternative to hemp insulation, wood fiber insulation is also available. It is fully natural and has all the properties mentioned here – mold resistant, solvent-free for allergy sufferers, sound insulating, and provides excellent protection against cold, especially offering much better protection against summer overheating.
In combination with clay plaster or earth plaster, this creates a healthy wall construction.
The company Emoton has developed this combination as an alternative for the installation layer and has secured it with a patent.
